(From August 7, 2026 ParentSquare Message "Welcome 2026-2027")
"... Arrival/Dismissal: PATIENCE, PATIENCE, and MORE PATIENCE is requested and needed as we all work to get to know the kids and ensure they get home safely!! K-3 grade students will not be dismissed without their dismissal cards. 4th and 5th graders will receive their dismissal tags on Monday. Thank you to our parent volunteers that are assisting with dismissal.
Our dismissal times for the car line are staggered to allow for an orderly and timely process. Please do not arrive on Bering ahead of your designated time.
- 3:15 p.m. – Kindergarten (Long Drive-enter on North entrance)
- 3:15 p.m. – 1st and 2nd grade (Long Drive-enter on North entrance)
- 3:15 p.m. – 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades (Enter from the North entrance and split right into the circle drive for dismissal only)
- 3:20 p.m. – Middle school (6th-8th) grades (L-shaped drive-enter using the south entrance across Common Bond)
If you are picking up more than one child, please use the later time. Older students will join younger siblings in the younger sibling’s designated location and be dismissed at the later time.
Please refrain from blocking driveways of the apartment complexes and business establishments while you are in the car line.
Morning Arrival Reminders: – Safety First! Enter through the north side on Bering and follow the traffic rules.
- Walk-up Students: Park across the street at Westminster United Methodist Church (behind the Church).
- Handicapped Parking: Reserved for PSI/MI parents and staff with disabilities only — not for drop-off/pick-up.
- Elementary Families (including middle school siblings): Use only the lane nearest the building for morning drop-off. Other spaces are for staff parking only.
- Middle School Families: Use the L-Shape Driveway for drop-off.
- Safety Note: Do not drop students on the Bering sidewalk to walk through the parking lot traffic. DO NOT drop kids at Common Bond or local businesses. Please use the carpool line.
Afternoon Dismissal Update for Middle School Families: Dismissal maps attached below.
To improve safety and minimize time in the heat, middle school parents should arrive at 3:25 p.m., not 3:20 p.m.Arriving early on Bering blocks elementary parents from accessing the pick-up line ahead of middle school dismissal, as outlined in our arrival/dismissal procedures.
We will use two lanes for Elementary Carpool Dismissal. 3rd–5th grade students on the breezeway near the orchestra room/circle driveway.
Walk-up Dismissal: K-5 student walkers will be dismissed from the side gate by the T. H. Rogers Marquee Sign on San Felipe Street. If you did not pick up your dismissal tag, please bring your ID, go to the main office and show your ID. We will dismiss through the main office. 4th and 5th grade students will receive their tags on Monday. Please be patient and cooperate as we put systems in place to keep our students safe.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and efficient for all.
Parking Lot Exit: As you exit the parking lot in the car line, please follow the cones and lane markings, which dictate the direction of your turn. Cars in the right lane will turn right, and cars in the left lane will turn left. ..."
