Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to donate to be a PTO member?

No, not at all! Anyone — parents, teachers, staff, alumni — can join the THR PTO. Please create an account or update your family info so we can reach you. The PTO cannot obtain contact info through HISD.

Can I donate a custom amount?

Yes, absolutely. While $30 is the minimum to receive a car decal/magnet, you can donate any amount. For example, a $600 custom donation receives the $550-level incentives.

How does employer matching work?

It varies by company. Check with your HR department. Enter your employer's name on the form, then email fundraising@throgers.org to let us know a match is pending. You'll be recognized at the total donation level once we receive the payout.

Can I donate individually for each child?

Yes, that's up to you! Incentives are based on the individual donation level — we can't combine amounts to reach a higher tier, but we're happy to recognize you as a family on our website at the higher tier.

Can I buy incentives individually?

Unfortunately, no. These incentives are special tokens designed to encourage annual donations, which help us meet the needs of our growing school community.

How can I get involved as a PTO member?

We need you! Register on www.throgers.org and sign up for the newsletter (click for step-by-step instruction). Watch for sign-up sheets for our events, and please attend our monthly PTO meetings — the best place to hear updates from our principals and make your voice heard.

How do I make a corporate matching donation?

Corporate matching can happen for any amount, depending on your employer's policies. Here's a step-by-step example if you want to donate at a $300 level ($150 from you + $150 match):

Enter a Custom Amount of $150.
Use the drop down menu to select one of the Donation Incentive Items for the $300-599 incentive level.
Enter your employer's name and the estimated match.
At checkout, make a partial payment of $150 — we'll remove the balance once the match arrives!
